Rubbish Democracy

I completely fail to understand this mantra about continuing democracy at all costs. What rubbish! Why should democracy continue if the current democratic setup has proved itself to be corrupt beyond repair? Not only that, but after the Memogate Treason, it has proved to be traitorous as well. I do not want such a rubbish democracy. For all I care, it can go out of the window today.

That's Right, Armed Forces should not come under Civilian Command in Pakistan

In Pakistan, this is true.

That is because the Institute of Armed Forces of Pakistan is at least faithful to the existence, security and sovereignty of Pakistan even if not to the Muslim nationalism. While some of the civilian politicians of Pakistan come into power with the sole objective of grabbing and filling their pockets with as much money as possible. Some of them do not expect to be stay around long, or get another chance. Hence, they would do anything, anything at all to gain their monetary objectives in as short a time as possible, including compromising the state sovereignty, selling out state secrets and committing high treason.

Ideally, the army should be under civilian command, but not in a country where there is no strong, comprehensive and non-compromising moral criterion for political eligibility.

Will Pakistan get stung again like the NATO Mohmand Airstrike?

Will Pakistan get stung again? Of course, it will.

Prophet Muhammed SAW said, ‘A Momin does not get stung twice from the same hole’. [Mishkat]

If we ease up and re-open NATO supply lines, do not evacuate foreigners from our airbases other than Shamsi as well and do not block air-corridor for the so-called war-on-terror, we will surely get stung again.

If Pakistan does and continues the above grave mistakes, then the blood of our martyred soldiers will no longer be on foreign hands, but our own hands.

Should We be Grateful for US Civilian Aid to-be-continued?

Our sister Aafia Siddiqui lies raped in their prisons. Our brothers remain trapped and tortured in their Guantanamo Bays. Their drones have killed and made homeless hundreds of our children.

Is our character so dog-like that we are expected to feel pleased and grateful for the statement of continued US to Pakistan civilian aid?

Bravo Bonn Boycott

I would like to greatly appreciate the firm stance the government has taken by boycotting the Bonn conference, cutting-off NATO supply-lines and having Shamsi airbase evacuated.

It is hard to believe Pakistan can be so brave and sensible.

However, as citizens, it is our job to appreciate anything good whenever it happens.

Pakistan should also shut down all other rented-out war airbases, block war airspace facility and expel all undercover foreign agents in the country.

I hope Pakistan does not do a u-turn on its stance like it did in the Raymond David case, and change its foreign policy permanently for the good.

Do Not Compromise Memogate Treason

The nation would have to be mentally retarded not to understand the link between the Memogate Issue and President Asif Ali Zardari’s sudden illness.

If the leaders and institutes of Pakistan allow the perpetrators of the Memogate Treason to simply leave their offices or the country unpunished, it will be a criminal decision and set a criminal precedent for people to commit treason in the future as well and then resign to avoid punishment.

Framing Pakistan for Afghanistan

Ten years ago, America said regarding its so-called war-on-terror, ‘Either you are with us or against us…’, which blackmailed Pakistan into becoming an ally.

Today, the same tactic is being used when Kerry Lugar says, ‘Not going to the Bon Convention will give the message that Pakistan is not serious about peace in the region’.

Please, stop putting words in Pakistan’s mouth and it is about time Pakistan recognizes these arm-twisting tactics and not succumb to unwanted pressures.

Mohmand NATO Airstrike, A Rescue Operation for Memogate and NRO Perpetrators?

The timing of the Mohmand NATO airstrike upon the Pakistani borders looks like a foreign rescue operation for the Memogate and NRO perpetrators. The news has certainly diverted attention from both of the critical national issues.

The nation is not stupid. It is horrible how far people can go to save their offices.

Politicians, please learn to lose gracefully

It is high time that our politicians learnt to lose gracefully. The surfacing success of Sir Imran Khan is turning our cultural PPP and PML-N politicians sour-mouthed and they are giving flimsy comments, denying his success and bad-mouthing him. It is making no one look bad except themselves. They are looking weaker and weaker in the public eye by exhibiting their weak character in the face of a challenge and recompense of their insincere deeds.

The same applies to the public applause for Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s principal stand and ultimately making the right choice.

Khalid Soomro and Imran Khan

Sir Khalid Soomro, with due respect, you are strongly requested to respect Sir Imran Khan on political, humanitarian and religious grounds.

People are with Sir Imran Khan because they truly desire change. Please look at the success of your counterparts seeking the truth and not hit below the belt.

Already Muslims are in disarray because of disunity. Do not push away leaders and their followers who are pro-Islamic just to settle a professional score.

I am a so-called practicing Muslim, wearing the veil and all and support religious political groups, but I strongly object to your comments and language for Sir Imran Khan on the program ‘Policy Matters’, Dunya TV, dated November 11, 2011.

Pakistan should adopt Iran's Foreign Policy

After the Haqqani network scam, Pakistan is in the hottest fire line of 'Do More'. The tragedy is that Pakistan should never have participated in this so-called war-on-terror to begin with. It was a proxy war aimed at eliminating Muslims of Afghanistan in power, to capture some more rich resources of the world (Iraq) and to gain some more foothold in strategic areas (Pakistan).

Some believe that Pakistan could not have survived without the support of America. This thought is a contemptuous negation of the existence of Allah SWT. Iran is not even a nuclear power, but it has shown much more spine and survived well despite the pressure of foreign dictation and slavery.

Al-Qaeda leaders suddenly popping up in Pakistan?

It is strange that Al-Qaeda leaders are suddenly popping up in Pakistan. Is this phase a runner-up to prepare grounds and public opinion to wage war on Pakistan? Just like Iraq was accused of hoarding weapons of mass destruction which were never found?

Financial Eid packages for the families of Missing Persons?

Another Eid, and the families of Missing Persons remain stranded.

It may be too much to ask for the immediate release of those Missing Persons, but it should not be at all difficult to distribute financial Eid packages among their families.

No thanks to Aid

This is a great time to disengage ourselves from the crutches of foreign aid, as our Aid has been halted at this point in time unless we 'do more' and our military leadership has honorably claimed that we can certainly do without it.

After all that, losing Cricket really does not matter

The timing of Raymond Davis's release and the World Cup set matches seem to have been match-fixed.

It would have been sorrier if Pakistan had won. For we would have started celebrations and celebrated for weeks while the real issues of our life remained forgotten.

Families of Fahim and Faizan are still 'missing'. 15% sales tax is to be further implemented from the 1st of April. Kashmiris continue to struggle for freedom and face persecution. And the list goes on.

Looking for success in games while being a total loser in real-life issues seems like a cruel and self-delusive joke.

Mass Congregation Prayers for Pak-India Semi-Final World Cup 2011?

While the act of holding congregation prayers for cricket would play a positive role towards improving the image of Muslims worldwide, yet its turnout is a wondrous and sad reminder for many of us.

It seems as if we as a nation are all sensitive to victory and defeat in games, but are eerily insensitive to the real issues of the world and Ummah today.

There is no congregation prayer call or attendance upon drone attacks, missing persons or the day Dr. Aafia Siddiqui was sentenced to eighty-six years of imprisonment.

PML-N's involvement or lack of involvement in Davis's case?

PML-N members are continuously giving statements that PML-N had nothing to do with Raymond Davis's release. The criticism by the public is not about involvement but about lack of involvement in establishing justice in Raymond Davis case.

When the Punjab government was dissolved in February 2009, the PML-N did not stay uninvolved. They took to the streets and the success of the Long March for the Freedom of Judiciary 2009 is attributed to the passionate involvement of PML-N.

Sadly and ironically, Mian Nawaz Sharif chose to be on the Musallah when Dr. Aafia Siddiqui was being sentenced on September 23, 2011. And he happened to be on a hospital bed when Raymond Davis was being released.

Does PML-N still claim to be lions?

Why protest agreed upon drone attacks?

I fail to understand this sudden official protest upon drone attacks. Are we not clear that these drone attacks have been sanctioned officially? Then why the protest? Are we trying to mislead the nation as in the Raymond Davis case or are we just being funny?

March 16th Blackens after Glorification

March 16th had been glorified in the recent history of Pakistan as the Day of Restoration of Judiciary.

Today, after two years, Raymond Davis, charged of murder of three Pakistanis, carrying illegal weapons and spying within Pakistan, has mysteriously been released by the Lahore High Court on the very celebrated March 16th.

The Pakistani nation has been betrayed by its defendants.

Prove publicly that Politicians and others pay taxes

Prestigious, reputable and strong financial audit agencies like Fergusons or any other, should be allocated the task of auditing the financial activity of politicians, bureaucrats and all other hotshots. Its report should be published annually and publicly in newspapers right after the tax-collection month to prove that they also pay taxes.

Purpose of Federal Cabinet Dissolution?

What is the point of dissolving the Federal Cabinet at this point in time? A time when the Tahrir Square of Cairo, Egypt is alive with a revolutionary tornado? And the tornado is fast picking up the winds towards East?

The dissolution of the Federal Cabinet will not turn Pakistan into Syedna Umar's RA welfare state, neither will it stop drone attacks and nor will it bring the Missing Persons home. Please have some respect for us citizens. We are not children who have not yet learnt to buckle their shoes. We understand the cruel jokes that are being played with us.

Yet, more than that, have mercy on your own souls. No soul has lived on this Earth forever. Having even the remotest of faith, do not you think you will be answerable to Allah SWT instead of the West for your deeds today?

We want a real change, not musical chairs of corruption, oppression, treachery and deceit.

Aid or Honor

Pakistan is being threatened with its Aid being cut off if Raymond Davis is not released. What kind of a nation allows foreigners to murder its citizens in lieu of financial aid? Even animals have the basic instinct of protecting its herd and bits of food thrown towards them do not convince them to do otherwise. We do not want Aid. We want the right to life, honor and ideology.

Raymond Davis must be prosecuted completely and then offered release only in return of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, as the families of the deceased have offered. May Allah SWT bless them for their offer and grant martyrdom to their deceased sons, A~meen.

Fahim's Wife commits Suicide

Fahim, one of the men killed by the US diplomant Raymond Davis, his wife committed suicide in sheer depression of news bits floating about chocolates being sent in to Raymond Davis, him being given VIP protocol while in police custody and his possible release on the way.

Not many, but some will be thinking that suicide is haram in Islam, and what would have been the fate of this young lady when she transitted from this world into the Next One. It is also a thought; what would be the Fate with Allah SWT of those of our authorities who are committing suicidal injustice by considering Davis's freedom and the fate of that selfish faction of our society who are committing suicidal insensitivity and silence to the issue and those who are breeding on suicidal greed of dollar-aid in lieu of please-do-as-you-please-and-whatever-you-please.
