No Concession for the Under-Eighteen

The barbaric punishments of Islam can today offer some solace to the family of Nirbhaya, the famous Delhi gang-rape victim. While the culprits might be given a death sentence, in Islam, it is a death sentence for sure. While I wish some Hindu guru would take up the famous ‘an eye for an eye’ Holy law and treat those animals with the same cruel treatment that they meted out, that is, they should be publically raped for a full one hour, then beaten and inserted with an iron road, then thrown out of the bus and have it run over them till death. As for the sixth guy who must be thanking his stars that he is under-eighteen and hence prone to some relaxation, well Islam has some bad news for him and good news for Nirbhaya’s family. If he was old enough to rape, then he is old enough for punishment. In Islam, a person is considered an adult and hence responsible for his/her actions at puberty, be it at eleven, thirteen or whatever. The threshold is puberty and not being ‘eighteen or above’.
